Window World Announces the Auction of Its One-of-a-Kind IndyCar The Stinger

NORTH WILKESBORO, N.C. — Window World®, America’s largest replacement window and exterior remodeling company, announced the upcoming auction of The Stinger car. This priceless salute to a century of excellence is scheduled to be auctioned at Mecum Auctions’ Indianapolis event in May. The Stinger combines Window World’s passion for auto racing with its spirit of philanthropy in a platform that provides inspiration and hope. In celebration of 100 years of racing legends, Window World’s charitable foundation, Window World Cares®, presented The Stinger as a modern-day interpretation of the 1911 Marmon Wasp, with the goal of raising funds for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital®.

Over the past four years, The Stinger has traveled across the U.S., garnering signatures from Indianapolis 500 starters. With every Stinger signature, Window World Cares donates $189 to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Currently at 246 signatures, the donations from The Stinger program approach the $50,000 mark, adding to the more than $4.85 million total Window World Cares funds raised for the hospital to date. When The Stinger sells at Mecum Auctions, 100 percent of the funds will benefit St. Jude.

“Our resolve to give back to worthy causes has grown alongside our own evolution over the past 20 years,” said Window World Chairman and CEO, Tammy Whitworth. “The Stinger project is near and dear to every member of the Window World Family, and we look forward to the ultimate contribution it will provide to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in May.”

The Stinger started the final leg of its nationwide tour in January, making a promotional debut center-stage at the Mecum auction in Kissimmee, Florida. In the months leading up to its auction, the car will be on display for racing fans and potential buyers at various events in Augusta, Georgia; Houston, Texas and Kansas City, Kansas. The tour will conclude at Mecum Auctions’ Indianapolis event May 12–17.
