91-Year-Old Entrepreneur to Parachute into Ohio’s Canfield Fair Alongside Son and Window World CEO Tammy Whitworth

Window World Youngstown co-owner Fred Moran will make the jump at age 91, joined by son Pat Moran and Chairman and CEO Tammy Whitworth in a celebration of family, entrepreneurship, community and America’s veterans

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

CANFIELD, Ohio — At 91 years old, entrepreneur and Window World Youngstown co-owner Fred Moran is proving that there is no age limit on adventure or on making an entrance.

On Thursday, Sept. 3, Moran is scheduled to parachute into the historic Canfield Fairgrounds alongside his son, Pat Moran, and Window World Chairman and CEO Tammy Whitworth, helping officially open the 180th Canfield Fair in Canfield, Ohio.

The trio will jump with the All Veteran Group, an elite parachute demonstration team made up of active and retired military members and patriotic Americans dedicated to honoring veterans, public servants, hometown heroes and their families. The approximately 10 a.m. jump will follow a special flyover of the fairgrounds.

For Fred Moran, the jump represents the latest chapter in a life defined by entrepreneurship, family, and a willingness to embrace the next adventure.

It also won’t be his first time jumping from an airplane.

In 2019, at age 84, Moran completed a tandem skydive with Mike Elliott, president of the All Veteran Group, at the same location. Seven years later, he will return to the skies at age 91 this time with his son and the leader of the national company his family has represented in the Youngstown community for more than two decades.

“Age has never been something that defines Fred,” said Tammy Whitworth, Chairman and CEO of Window World. “What defines him is his energy, his commitment to his family and community, and the way he continues to embrace life. I can’t think of a better way to celebrate Fred, the Moran family, our veterans and 180 years of the Canfield Fair than by jumping out of an airplane together. It is going to be an experience I will never forget.”

Whitworth leads Window World, America’s largest exterior remodeling company, with more than 220 locally owned locations across the country. Her decision to make the jump alongside the Morans reflects the close relationship between Window World’s national organization and the entrepreneurs who have built the brand in communities across America.

For Whitworth, it also represents something deeply connected to Window World’s culture: showing up for the people and communities behind the brand.

“Window World has always been about much more than windows,” Whitworth said. “We are a family of local business owners, team members and partners who care deeply about the communities we serve. Fred and Pat embody that spirit, and being able to share this moment with them while also honoring the men and women who have served our country makes it incredibly special.”

The jump also highlights Window World’s longstanding commitment to America’s veteran community.

Window World has supported the All Veteran Group, as part of the Window World Military Imitative and its mission to “Honor, Remember and Serve” through parachute demonstrations and appearances around the country. The team has also appeared nationally as the Window World Parachute Team, using its demonstrations to recognize veterans, military families, public servants, and hometown heroes.

“Having Fred make this jump at 91 is something special,” said Mike Elliott, president of the All Veteran Group. “Seven years ago, we jumped together when he was 84. To come back to the same place and do it again this time with his son and Tammy is a powerful reminder that courage, purpose and a sense of adventure don’t have an expiration date.”

Three Leaders, One Jump

The unusual opening-day spectacle brings together three people representing different generations and perspectives within the Window World organization.

At 91, Fred Moran represents the entrepreneurial spirit of a local business owner who has spent decades building relationships in his community.

His son, Pat Moran, represents the next generation of a family business and the importance of succession in locally owned companies.

And Tammy Whitworth represents the leadership of a national organization built around a network of local entrepreneurs. As Chairman and CEO, Whitworth leads Window World’s more than 220 locally owned locations nationwide while maintaining the family-oriented culture that has been central to the company since its founding.

Together, they’ll take the same leap.

For the Moran family, there may be no more appropriate place to do it than the Canfield Fair.

Window World Youngstown has participated in the Fair every year since 2003, making the annual event a tradition for the company, its employees and generations of customers throughout the Mahoning Valley.

“The Canfield Fair is part of the fabric of this community,” said Fred Moran. “Our family has been coming here with Window World since 2003, and now I get to come back at 91 and jump into the Fair with my son, Tammy and the All Veteran Group. How many people get to say that? As long as they’ll let me keep having adventures, I’m going to keep having them.”
