Fred Bauer

VP, Corporate Counsel

Fred’s journey has taken him from a childhood on Long Island, NY, to Wilkes County, NC, trading proximity to the sea for the mountains of northwestern North Carolina.

his inexorable question asking keeps everyone on their toes

After leaving Long Island, Fred attended Wake Forest University, where he studied Mathematical Economics. He continued his education at Wake Forest School of Law, earning his Juris Doctor degree and joining the North Carolina Bar. Fred then began his career as a Prosecutor for the State of North Carolina, where he spent 22 years trying cases for the Twenty-third and Twenty-second Prosecutorial Districts. His favorite aspect of the job was the interaction he had with the community.

Ready to take on a new challenge, Fred joined Window World as Corporate Counsel in 2015, much to the delight of his new coworkers. From contracts, to negotiations, litigation, intellectual property, and franchise law, Fred has expansive involvement in Window World’s strategic direction. His inexorable question asking keeps everyone on their toes.

While his tenure as a prosecutor is over, Fred’s service to the community is far from finished. A volunteer for the Clemmons and Wilkesboro Fire Departments and a Certified NC Firefighter and EMT, Fred is actively involved in helping others. The father of a US Marine, he is also an avid supporter of Window World’s work with the Veterans Airlift Command. In addition, Fred is a Mason and counsels Wake Forest undergraduates as Chapter Director of the Sigma Pi Fraternity.

When asked what he likes to do in his free time, Fred replies that he is still figuring that part out. He and his wife, Robin, are proud parents to 3 and are enjoying the time they have together now that their children are adults. Looking to the future, he hopes to travel more and spend more time boating.
