Tammy Whitworth, chairman and CEO of Window World, America’s largest replacement window and exterior remodeling company, had the opportunity to appear live, in-studio at YAHOO! Finance on Veterans Day. Tammy and U.S. Army Sergeant First Class Brant Ireland traveled all the way to New York City to discuss Window World’s partnership with the Veterans Airlift Command (V.A.C.).
Window World’s private airplane is typically used to visit the more than 200 Window World locations spread out across the United States. In between routine trips, usage of the plane is donated to the Veterans Airlift Command to offer much-needed transportation to wounded veterans and their families. Window World has flown over 100 missions and recently surpassed the $1 million mark in flights and donations to the V.A.C. Window World’s participation in the program is a unique way of conveying the immense gratitude and appreciation the company has for America’s veterans. Additionally, Window World is proud to offer qualified veterans $15,000 off the franchise fee when they become Window World store owners.
The Veterans Airlift Command provides free air transportation to wounded soldiers and their families for medical or other compassionate purposes. This service is made possible through a national network of volunteer aircraft owners, such as Window World. Often, veterans are unable to travel using traditional, commercial airports due to medical conditions. Through the V.A.C. and volunteers like Window World, veterans can get the help they need to fly worry-free to visit their families and receive treatment.
During the interview, Tammy discussed how much Window World values veterans and their service to our country. Tammy explained how proud she was to support veterans through the company’s partnership with the V.A.C. Additionally, Brant provided input from a military perspective. He relayed the importance of volunteers and the impact they can have on our nation’s veterans. He believes that every volunteer can make a difference, and he is very appreciative of Window World’s efforts. To read the article on YAHOO! Finance, Click Here
