NASCAR 'King' Richard Petty to Deliver Superbird to Phoenix Couple

NASCAR "King" Richard Petty to Deliver Superbird to Phoenix Couple

Limited Build Car Won by Local Window World Owners

PHOENIX, Ariz., Nov. 11, 2011 —Richard Petty, NASCAR champion and legend, will present the keys for a limited build Plymouth by Petty Superbird to Window World of Phoenix owners, Jim and Toni Ballard, on Saturday, Nov. 12. A celebration at the Window World of Phoenix store, located at 4844 South 40th Street in Phoenix, is scheduled for 3 p.m. - 5p.m. The Ballards, who own the Window World stores in Phoenix and Prescott Valley, won the specialty vehicle through a fundraiser for Window World Cares, the charitable foundation of the nation's largest replacement window company. The organization supports causes such as St. Jude Children's Research Hospital and Veterans Airlift Command.

The Plymouth by Petty Superbird was part of a Window World fundraiser at the company's annual Family Reunion, a four-day conference in July that drew more than 1,100 Window World employees and corporate partners from across the U.S. A raffle, along with an auction and other fundraising efforts during the conference, raised more than $500,000 for Window World Cares. Since 2008, Window World Cares has contributed more than $2.1 million for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital and supported 16 missions for Veterans Airlift Command, donating more than 40,000 miles.

"Our partnership with Richard Petty and Petty's Garage has allowed for our owners to win a one-of-a-kind car while supporting causes that are near and dear to the Window World family," said Tammy Whitworth, chairman and CEO, Window World, Inc. and co-founder, Window World Cares. "This effort has provided generous donations to Window World Cares that will ultimately help children impacted by cancer and other devastating illnesses at St. Jude Children's Research Hospital."

The high performance vehicle features several Petty's Garage interior and exterior upgrades. The no. 7 Petty Superbird, which celebrates the seven NASCAR Cup Championships won during Richard Petty's career, is part of a limited build of only 25 cars.

"As a Window World owner who has been around race cars all my life, winning the no. 7 Petty Superbird is incredible and I am both humbled and honored to have it delivered by 'The King,' Richard Petty," said Jim Ballard, owner of Window World of Phoenix. "I grew up in North Carolina where racing greats such as the Pettys and the Earnhardts built their careers and teams. I will drive my Superbird proudly and remember the connection it has to a legendary driver as well as Window World Cares."
