Window World Cares Donates $350,000 to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital

N. WILKESBORO, N.C. - Window World Cares, the charitable foundation of the nation’s largest replacement window company Window World, Inc., is showing its support for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in a big way. The foundation recently presented a check for $350,000 to the hospital, which is one of the world’s premier centers for the research and treatment of pediatric cancer and other catastrophic childhood diseases.

The donation advances the fundraising initiative of the company’s recently launched program, “Opening Windows for St. Jude Kids,” through which Window World hopes to raise $1.5 million – the hospital’s daily operating cost.

Window World’s relationship with St. Jude started in 2008 as a way to give back to others in need, especially children. The founders of Window World Cares, Todd Whitworth, late CEO of Window World, and his wife Tammy Whitworth, knew firsthand how difficult it can be as struggling young parents with a child that requires medical care. Following the birth of their premature daughter, the Whitworths received lifesaving prenatal care that inspired their commitment to children’s causes.

With the recent passing of Todd Whitworth, the company is humbled to continue its support of St. Jude in his honor.

“Todd was so passionate about helping others, including the St. Jude community, and that drive to help others in need and genuine enthusiasm for philanthropy is ingrained in our company culture,” said Blair Ingle, president, Window World. “We’re honored to keep up that tradition of service in Todd’s memory.”

Since its inception and including this latest donation, Window World Cares has raised more than $630,000 for St. Jude.

“We’ve all embraced St. Jude and really feel as though we are a part of the St. Jude family now,” added Reed. “Our ongoing efforts include contributions from our base of 30,000 customers here in the Tidewater area and hundreds of thousands of customers nationwide, along with corporate events we do throughout the year. That says a lot about our customers and our fellow Window World owners and employees, and really brings the family aspect full circle.”
